The Isle of Man

At our Boston Launch Party at the Mailbox on 13th October we were delighted to have the Island’s new Chief Minister make his first public speech following his appointment. The Hon. Allan Bell MHK said on that night his new cabinet would be appointed such that the Island will have the united government it needs to prosper over the next few years in the face of global economic uncertainty.

True to his word, on the 14th October, Mr. Bell announced his new Council of Ministers and commented:

“The public expect a united and mature response from their politicians to the serious challenges facing our Island. As I have already made clear, I am taking an inclusive approach to the business of Government so that we can all work together for the good of the Isle of Man and its people. I believe the composition of this new Council of Ministers reflects that approach – they are a team blending experience and fresh thinking that hopefully will be able to mesh well with the rest of their Tynwald colleagues.”

Mr. Bell has said that the Island’s economy must be his cabinet’s number one priority and with the appointment of John Shimmin MHK as the Department of Economic Development Minister he has a colleague with invaluable experience in Government.

We at Boston have built up an excellent relationship with the Department of Economic Development and are very supportive of the work they have done to promote and attract business to the Island. We are delighted to be able to work in partnership with our Government to pursue growth and future success of the Island and for its reputation to continue to be enhanced on the international stage.
