Charity Begins At Home
7 November 2011
The Boston Charitable Foundation was established in September 2008 specifically to donate funds to good causes and community projects on the Isle of Man.
Since its inception, it has provided assistance to some thirty eight charities.
More recently it was one of the main sponsors involved with the Commonwealth Youth Games, held on the Isle of Man in September 2011. The Games were a tremendous success and received a large amount of publicity for the island.
Currently the Boston Charitable Foundation is sponsoring The Royal British Legion 90th Anniversary Remembrance Concert being held at the Island’s Villa Marina on 11 November 2011 (very poignantly the actual anniversary of Armistice Day). The concert is being co-ordinated by the charismatic Major Charles Wilson, who is an honorary colonel with the Isle of Man Cadet Force. ‘The Angel and The Fallen’ theme is inspired by a memorial in Northern France and is the Manx contribution to concerts which are being held throughout this 90th Anniversary Year. We are extremely honoured to be involved with this worthy cause. Tickets are available at £10 each from the Villa Marina http://www.villagaiety.com/whatson.xml
There are some very worthy projects in the pipeline which the Foundation will be assisting with and we look forward to updating you on these in due course.
