Boston retains the strong ethical values of its founding family. Headquartered in the Isle of Man, we believe in supporting worthy causes both locally and further afield through the Boston Charitable Foundation.

• Commonwealth Youth Games 2011

Boston was a partner sponsor for the 2011 Isle of Man Commonwealth Youth Games. The games were the biggest multi-sports event ever held on the Island, and brought over 1,000 competitors, 250 officials, and the world’s media to the Island for the event in September 2011.

• Awards for Excellence

Boston will be sponsoring the Volunteer of the Year Award at this year’s Isle of Man Newspapers Awards of Excellence; which will be held on the 17 November 2011. The Award recognises the contribution of a Manx volunteer to the local community and rewards their achievements.

• 11/11/11 Remembrance Day

Boston will be the sole sponsor of the Royal British Legion Remembrance Concert 2011. This event will remember all service men and women who have supported the British nation throughout history. The concert will be held at the Villa Marina on the 11 November 2011.

Staff Events

• Cakes for Kids

On 20 July, staff at Boston took part in a ‘cakes for kids’ bake sale, bringing in home-made treats in order to raise funds for the Isle of Man Children’s Centre. The day was a great success, with all staff members contributing generously.

• Victim Support Quiz

On 12 May 2011 Boston entered two teams into a quiz night held at local venue Bar George, in aid of Victim Support. The men’s team did extremely well; placing second overall. The evening raised nearly £1,000 for the charity.

• Nicola Offord, Great North Run

Nicola Offord, Assistant Manager at Boston Group, ran for Breakthrough Breast Cancer at the Bupa Great North Run on 18 September 2011. The course spans between Newcastle Upon Tyne and South Shields.
